The fabled Nisse series from Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik was drawn in 1898 by the factory owner's daughter, Sigrid Rachlev. It is based on the real Norwegian legend characters. Has become part of Norwegian cultural heritage over the years. Every year at Christmas the elves appear in thousands of Norwegian homes, creating new traditions, generation after generation.
